As a highly respected civil rights and social justice advocacy organization, the Florida Democratic League (FDL) supports and participates in struggles of all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s OPPOSING child and elderly abuse, sexual exploitation, human trafficking, police brutality, judicial corruption, government mismanagement, wars of aggression, or unjust discrimination; or SUPPORTING  health care reform, lower taxes, respect for human life, parental choice in education, true Marriage Equality, the right to bear arms, worker rights or consumer protection.

Florida’s families will never prosper without the grassroots organizations needed to organize, mobilize and take their fight to the very halls of government. Since its founding the FDL is continuously enhancing its ability to create lasting positive change and make real progress for ALL Floridians, regardless of their age, ancestry, color, disability, ethnic origin, race, religion, or sex.

ARE YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT?

The civic-minded men and women of the Florida Democratic League understand clearly that political parties are means to an end, not an end in themselves. You join a political party to advance the interests of your country, not join your country to advance the interests of a political party. So regardless of the political party you’re registered in, do what we do. Work for your country’s best interest, not a party’s best interest.

Throughout history, those who place the interests of a political party over the best interests of their country and its people have a name: traitors.

Consequently, as President John F. Kennedy taught us, the FDL does not seek the “Republican” answer, or the “Democratic” answer, but rather the right answer! The answer that’s right for America, not for any one political party.
